The Trenton, Michigan, community is mourning the tragic loss of Robert Noble, a 66-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a traffic collision at the intersection of North Telegraph Road and Newport Road in Frenchtown Township, Monroe County. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, at the busy intersection of North Telegraph Road and Newport Road. Investigators said Robert Noble was riding a motorcycle when a minivan traveling eastbound on Newport Road entered the intersection and struck him as he was making a turn onto North Telegraph Road. The impact threw Noble from his motorcycle, causing fatal injuries.
Emergency responders, including deputies, firefighters, and paramedics, arrived within minutes and immediately rendered aid. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, Robert Noble was pronounced dead from his injuries. Authorities reported that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The occupants of the minivan—a 34-year-old Newport woman and a juvenile passenger—were not seriously injured. After the collision, the minivan continued through a fence before coming to rest in the parking lot of the DTE Energy Newport Service Center.
