CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland music community is mourning the loss of Jason “Manfiish” Edwards, who has been identified by family members and friends as one of two people killed in a devastating multi-vehicle crash on State Route 176 South. Edwards, known throughout the local hardcore scene for his work as a vocalist, died after the vehicle he was traveling in became engulfed in flames following a chain-reaction collision Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Cleveland Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m. on State Route 176 South near Spring Road. Investigators said a dump truck traveling southbound struck a Jeep Patriot that had slowed because of traffic congestion. The impact forced the Jeep into a Ford E-350 van traveling ahead, triggering a violent chain of events.
Police said the Jeep overturned after being struck and was quickly consumed by fire. The Ford E-350 also lost control from the force of the collision, crossed into the highway median, and overturned. Emergency crews responded within minutes, but both occupants of the Jeep sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
While authorities have not yet publicly released the identities of the victims, family members and close friends identified one of those killed as Jason “Manfiish” Edwards, whose death has sent shockwaves through Cleveland’s hardcore music community. The identity of the second victim has not been officially released pending notification of next of kin.
The 35-year-old driver of the dump truck was not injured in the crash, police said. Meanwhile, a 71-year-old man and a 70-year-old woman traveling in the Ford E-350 suffered injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials have not provided an update on the extent of their injuries.
Edwards was widely recognized within Cleveland’s independent music scene for his passion, energy, and commitment to hardcore music. Friends, fellow musicians, and fans have shared tributes celebrating his contributions to the local scene, remembering him as a dedicated performer whose presence both on and off the stage left a lasting impression.
