CLEMSON, S.C. — Family members, friends, and the Anderson community are mourning the tragic loss of Demetrius Rashad Johnson, 44, who was killed in a head-on crash early Sunday morning near Clemson in Pickens County.
According to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. in the 200 block of Pendleton Road. Investigators determined that Johnson, an Anderson resident, was driving unrestrained when his vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced Johnson dead from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the crash. The Pickens County Coroner’s Office ruled his death accidental.
Authorities said two occupants traveling in the other vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been publicly disclosed.
