Born Betsy Ross on November 26, 1935, Khadijah Farrakhan married Louis Walcott—who would later become known as Louis Farrakhan—on September 12, 1953, in Boston. Two years later, the couple embraced Islam after being introduced to the teachings of the Nation of Islam. They both adopted new names and began a lifelong journey dedicated to their faith and community. Together, they raised nine children, though they endured the heartbreaking losses of their sons Louis Farrakhan Jr. in 2018 and Joshua Farrakhan in 2023.
